Why Gateway

Why This Role

Real work-life balance. No nights, weekends, or on-call. You come home every evening and your weekends are actually yours.
Small practice, direct access to the owner-operator. You work with Dan — not corporate HR. Decisions are fast, clinical input is heard, and you're a partner in how the KC territory grows.
Full admin support. Dan handles billing, scheduling, supplies, and credentialing. You focus on patients, not paperwork.
Complete wound care training provided. Ideal for new grads who want a specialized, high-autonomy role — or experienced NPs ready to move into wound care.
Mobile autonomy. You manage your schedule and see patients in their homes, SNFs, and ALFs across the KC metro. No office politics, no clinic pod.
Premium comp. $115k base with a $125–$145k total package is meaningfully above the KC market average of $95–$105k for NP roles.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need wound care experience?

No. We provide full clinical wound care training. This role is ideal for new graduates as well as experienced NPs wanting to specialize. You'll learn wound assessment, debridement, NPWT management, compression therapy, and documentation from day one.

What does a typical day look like?

Monday through Friday, daytime only. You manage your schedule and drive to patient locations — homes, skilled nursing facilities, and assisted living communities across the Kansas City MO metro. Most days include 6–10 patient visits with time built in for documentation and travel.

How do licensing and credentialing work?

You'll need an active Missouri license — or willingness to obtain one. Kansas licensing is in progress for the practice; Missouri license is the current requirement. Gateway pays all licensing fees and provides relocation assistance. Credentialing with Medicare and commercial payers is fully handled by Dan and the admin team.

What's the collaborating physician setup?

A collaborating physician is already in place. You have direct access for complex case review, complicated debridement decisions, and escalations. The structure meets all Missouri NP practice requirements.

How soon can I start?

As soon as credentialing clears — typically 30–90 days depending on licensing status and payer processing times. For candidates already licensed in Missouri with active Medicare credentialing, we can move faster.

Is there room for growth?

Yes. Gateway is growing — Kansas City is our newest market and Kansas-side expansion is planned. Lead clinician, training, and territory expansion roles are on the roadmap for NPs who want to grow with the practice.

Is this W-2 or 1099?

This is a W-2 employee role. You receive full benefits — medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, PTO, paid holidays, CME allowance, and fully covered malpractice insurance.

What about malpractice and liability?

Malpractice insurance is fully covered by Gateway. You are a W-2 employee with standard employer liability protections. Our mobile-practice protocols and documentation workflow are designed to minimize clinical and compliance risk.
